In preparation for the Nigeria 2009 FIFA Under-17 World Cup competition which comes up from October 24 to November 15, 2009, the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) in the pursuit of its mandate to boost power supply towards attaining 6000MW by December, 2009 will make concerted efforts to minimize power interruptions during the competition. Consequently, the company has set up a Preventive Maintenance Task Force in all its Field Units and Service Centres throughout the Federation to monitor power interruptions and take urgent action for prompt restoration of supply.

In the event of unforeseen equipment breakdown during the period, management appeals for calm and understanding as there would be quick response to fault complaints. PHCN wishes Nigerian soccer fans a happy viewing time throughout the World Cup fiesta.
