Armed Robbers Attack Church In Abeokuta, Steals N6M

An armed robbery gang led by Shehu Somoye, a former aide to Dimeji Bankole, raided a Foursquare gospel church in Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta and carted away N6 million cash from the church, alongside cash and other valuables from congregants.

Following a distress call during the operation,  the Ogun State Anti robbery Squad Police men surrounded the church.

In a tussle with the robbers, police bullets hit Somoye in the leg, while a Bareta pistol was recovered from him and was arrested.

"Somoye,  a former aide to Dimeji Bankole was hit by police bullets and a police pistol was recovered from him. We have been trying to ascertain the source of the pistol." said Ogun State Police PRO, Mr Muyiwa Adejobi.

This story get K leg oo. The police surrounded the church and engaged in a tussle with the armed rubbers. So how did the armed rubbers get away when police has already surrounded the church?
