Corruption and poverty are the inevitable products of bad government that has existed for a long time. To me, bad government  is the product of an extremely high level of illiteracy in a society.

There is one song from Bob Marley that says “get up! stand up stand up for your right” If you know what life is really worth, you will look for your own earth, the majority of Nigerians don’t know what life is really worth. So how can somebody who is ignorant of his right stand up and fight for it?

How can you talk of stopping corruption and poverty where from my own statistics over 70% of Nigerians, which is the majority, are illiterate and the little literate number only know how to speak good English and know the old  British constitution off heart, nothing more, perhaps how to work as sycophant for few rich people and manipulate elections. By this, the future of his brothers and sisters and that of his community, even his country, is stolen. Just to have little wealth to display. What a shame!
A place with bad social culture, where wealth is displayed unnecessarily and worshipped. Take for instance how important it is for ordinary Nigerian to make a photo with a big car on the background and post it in the site even some of  member and contributors of this site. Go to any websites of Nigerians and compare it to those of other nations, you will see displays of wealth although they are poor, That is to tell what is in the mind of ordinary Nigerians that "wealth is all" Lets not talk of stopping poverty and corruption in Nigeria. Instead, start to invest on how to improve literacy and change our bad social conduct which, at the end, will fight corruption and poverty.

We have to start with the young ones to control what they are taught in our school and have rallies on enhancing our bad social conduct and give our people political education and improve their political consciousness. I live in Europe (Germany) for 5 years now. I wouldn’t be able to see any of the things I described now clearly if had lived all my life in Nigeria, even if I were a professor here.
