A Chinese man, Linq Quan, who is the managing director of Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Company, is set to be honoured by the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushen V for his immerse contribution to Ikorodu land interns of construction works. The Oba told journalists about the conferment in his palace on Monday, the 3rd of August, 2015. Ling Quan will be honoured with the title, Bobasona of Ikoroduland officially on the 15th of August, 2015.

Someone needs orientate this our primitive Obas on how they conferred chieftain on foreigners .This titles are of cultural values and should not be rubbished ,the Chinese man doesn't see you equally as you might ever suggested .Nigeria and her people getting more knowledge of the world around us and this trend streaming down from the youths through inter-relationship on social network,traveling and exchanges programmes in our campuses.This Oba should know at least better or enquire before unilaterally taking such weighty decision on cultural titles convocation on a Chinese man.The Chinese working in Africa are not there as individual /group interest but are there to represent their government interest ,and execution of project contracted by both government but financed by Nigeria government .Its not like a humanitarian gesture the Chinese workers building roads around the states but a government initiative and government project.So ,the idea of conferring chieftain on a Chinese government worker is out of respect for our own government and our people ,such will not be reciprocated if vise versa .The lack of information and understanding of other culture is reflecting seriously on our cultural leaders.

And the title is "Bobasona" imagine the king creation of a parallel office of chieftain for a Chinese worker who is directed and mandated by Chinese government to overseas project contracted to China government by Nigeria government .How does this Chinese man deserved such ,when it our government initiative ,our government project and solely financed with our money ! What on earth gave this mums oba the idea that the Chinese were doing him or the society a favour ;And if at all the Oba and his emissary are not clearly or too daft to understand project facilitation by second party ,then at least the oba should consult the government to get full knowledge of the content of the MOU signed between Nigeria and China before hand .This is not a humanitarian or some sort of donation or aid from Chinese government but a mandatory obligation as stipulated in contract of agreement signed by both parties to construct or rehabilitate roads as described .Imagine oba dey call Chinco "Bobasona" does mean to me like the road belongs to the king and the Chinese man is helping building it as a gesture .
