The 7th Senate Assembly almost considered sponsoring the law on legalization of prostitution in Nigeria when the motion on human trafficking came up for hearing, the deputy senate president Ike Ekweremadu said then that “we need to regulate prostitution in this country so that if anyone wants to indulge in prostitution, the person should be registered and issued with a license. If we say we want to stop it, it would be difficult. It is done in other countries; let us regulate it by issuing license.”.Also in June more than 500 commercial sex workers rallied in Abuja, demanding to legalize their trade in wake of recent police raids, when more than 3,000 prostitutes have been arrested. The prostitutes gathered under the slogans “Legalize prostitution now” and “Allow us to hustle for our daily bread”, protesting discrimination and harassment from male law enforcement representatives. This was followed by the Watchdog of Human Right in the world "Amnesty International" stating in its Dublin-based International Council Meeting that "Sex workers are one of the most marginalized groups in the world who in most instances face constant risk of discrimination, violence and abuse," . However Amnesty International has been pressurizing countries to legalize Prostitution which Nigeria is inclusive and with the administration of Buhari looking into the options of legalizing prostitution. What do you think?, please advise the federal govt!

PROSTITUTION IS PURELY UNACCEPTABLE IN OUR WELL CULTURED SOCIETY. IT IS AGAINST OUR CULTURE, IT IS NOT A PART OF OUR TRADITION, NEVER BEEN AND NEVER WILL. IT IS A SIN AGAINST GOD. IT CAN HAPPEN IN EUROPE AND IN AMERICA OR IN ANY OTHER PART OF THE WORLD, BUT NOT IN OUR NIGERIAN SOCIETY NOT EVEN IN AFRICA. WE DON'T WANT IT. LET THE WEST LIMIT SUCH PRACTICE WITHIN THEMSELVES.

what is really wrong in prostitution for adults 18 years and above . no society can stop or has been able to stop prostitution....even the so called religious ones. so maybe it's time to have a rethink on the issue....either we leave it alone; decriminalize it or legalize it.
