ODUA operates in London, USA, Australia, and all countries of the world; and each of the diasporal organizations have leaders and chieftains who pilot their affairs. Would we then conclude that those organizations are operating parallel government with the monarchs and government of those countries. Why would this man infringe on the peaceable union of free citizens? I hope the Nigerian constitution has not suddenly labelled the Igbos visitors of the country.

Ndigbo enwere Eze. Ndigbo do not have a KING but kings in Igbo lands. Every man is a king of his home. Ndigbo are naturally and historically republicans hence any Igbo indigenes that form or bear the so called title of Ezendigbo whether in Igbo lands or abroad are fools. As matter of facts, the persons are only deceiving themselves. I agree the connotations of these Yoruba groups not to recognise any so called Eze Ndigbo in Yoruba lands but the context their statement is based is not acceptable. If one Oba of any Yoruba segments visits Igbo land or Hausa land does that person's forfeit his Oba title because he is in foreign land? The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi and his 4 wives caused a little commotion when they shopped recently in London, Westfield. People of Yoruba decent were bowing and others of non-Yoruba decent respected and accorded due respects and diligences.
The point to all this is no one should be Eze-Ndigbo because such title is very much alien to Igbo culture and history. However, an Eze from Igbo land can reside in Yoruba land and still maintain his royalty and due respects and diligences should be accorded to him. That Eze should represent his people in that Yoruba land just like the Oba will if he happens to find himself in Igbo land.

The funny thing is, those people who have bben elected/selected or appointed Eze-Ndigbo in diaspora may not even Traditional Rulers (Royal Highness), they are only given such title in recognition of leadership and contribution to various organization in the countries they operate. They do not compete with Kings and Queens of those countries, they do usurp the authorities of the land where they operate, more often than not, they do not even participate in the running of the affairs of those countries/communities. Most of the organizations that call their leaders Eze Ndi Igbo have their community heads or Royal Highness. So this man is just stupid, and if he has anything against the people that come from Igboland, then he should say it and stop the cock and bull story. Even, a wise traditional ruler would seize the opportunity to develop a governing link that would encompass all residents of the community, just like the colonial master did - appoint traditional head to lure the people into easy governance.

As a matter of fact, such figure, Eze Ndi Igbo, would represent a machinery to enhance his royal operations; but their hatred on Igbos has darkened their vision and ability to read between the lines.

Those who have ears let them hear. PMB, the country is under your watch. While the nation is at war (supposedly) with corruption, it's time to also address this type of antagonistic leadership. While the nation thinks it appropriate to arrest Nnamdi Kanu for supporting a movement for emancipation, the govt should not allow any king to operate with divisiveness.
