Nigerian gay activist, Bisi Alimi was in Nigeria last week for the 2015 edition of Ake Arts and Book Festival. He is pictured below getting serenaded by drummers at the event.
The yearly literary feast held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto-Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital. Bisi got to deliver an epic lecture, paid homage to ifa and he received divination. Ifa had good news and words of caution for Bisi. He also got to visit Lagos and met Prof Niyi Osundare.
But the highlight , Bisi said was the fact that he was able to see his mum again. The last time he had seen her was over 8 years ago after hateful Nigerians made him flee the country. Bisi was happy he came home and was able to take her back to London but also has this to say about his journey: Coming back to Nigeria has been a blessing. It might never be home anymore but it is still where the heart beats.
I have been reporting on latest news from Nigeria for almost 10 years now. I report on every possible news area I come across, but always ensure my reports are compiled with dignity and fact to uphold my personal values and duty as a journalist

I said it that this is a lawless country, I thought that this country made a decree of 14yrs imprison for all these stupid gays n lesbians? Then how is it that this idiot is being honored n nobody says anything instead they jailed a woman that admits that she's a prostitute. Nigeria is zoo.
