@Omatu, nice one again, beautiful piece... but we seem to have problems with our leaders, they seems to have developed cold feet, no body to take up challenges, nobody to take the bold step to bell the cat.. Our president is no where to be found...
Lots and lots of problems.. It's high time we do somethins order than fasting and prayers...
We might even consider you for the post of VP or President lol.. So far you'll take the fight to those American Bastardos. .

Andes you are right. Omatu has the quality of a good leader, he is the kind of people
Naija needs not Wolves in Sheep clothing. Using our money to boost other countries economy
Hilary Clinton said it when she visited Naija '' Your problem remains Bad govt & Selfish Leaders''

Thanks Popo.  We all need to speak life into our leaders and our country.  We need to continue to pray for our leaders for them to have wisdom.  We need to obey the biblical rules if we want our country to heal.  The bible asks us to pray for our leaders.

God bless Nigeria!

LOL!  Are we REALLY surprised that Nigeria has fallen behind on paying its taxes?  If their scammers cannot pay back money they promised the victims they bilked out of their life savings, how can we expect a corrupt government who condones these action to actually pay what is due?  Honestly, this does not surprise me in the slightest.  Personally, I think the US should expel the Nigerian Consulate to send a message to EVERYONE, not just Nigeria, that you have obligations you must fulfill, and if you do not, then you will suffer the consequences.  Seriously, Nigeria, what reality are you living in?

The city of New York claims the government of Nigeria owes her $4.1 to $16 million in real estate taxes and interest on the Manhattan building that houses Consulate General of Nigeria. The building is located at 828 2nd Ave. (Corner of 44th St. & 2nd Ave.), New York, NY 10017, U.S.A.

New York City on Monday filed a lawsuit against Nigeria in US federal court demanding payment for back taxes and interest. Generally, globally, diplomatic offices are tax exempt, and this is the case in the U.S. New York City argues parts of Nigeria’s building had been used for commercial purposes, including housing of Nigeria Airways offices.

I pray the same thing for the scammer who forced me into bankruptcy.  But until ALL the innocent people who have beens scammed out of untold $$$ are repaid for what they thought was kindness towards another human being who needed help, I will hold no such sympathy for a nation that cond0ones these criminal acts--and you can tell your "government" I said so.

On a personal level, I am sorry to hear that you were forced into bankruptcy because of a scammer.  Please share with us how this happened.  How is it that your trying to help somebody led you to bankruptcy?

Nigeria does not need your sympathy.  How come the USA government was not held responsible for the likes of Barney Madoff who bilked Americans out of billions?  The amount that Madoff stole from Americans is so large that it could not add up to all the fraud that have ever been perpetrated by Nigerians and the Nigerian government combined.

Your bankruptcy which I honestly share your sadness is not enough reason to condemn 150 people to terrorism.  I now have more reason to welcome that terrorism badge with greater honour.

God bless Nigeria.  God bless Africa.  God bless Nigerian leaders.

I tried to help someone who made it clear they were in trouble.  That was my crime.  I was naive enough to believe a call for help--with no promise for future riches, so do not think it that.  And in helping this person, I am not sure anymore if it was a man or a woman, they hacked my identity and stole it.  And after fighting for almost 18 months to pick up the peices, I have been forced into bankruptcy just to keep my home and my truck so I can go to work.  None of the creditors would hear me.  They called me at all hours of the day and night.  What was I promised, you ask, to make me fall for this?  The promise of a happy life with a woman who would love me and take care of me as I deserved--not one who would put me in the hospital and cost my an arm's length of my bowels like my first wife.  "She" had all the right words and answered my questions to my satisfaction, but when the money ran out, "she" left.  And I was left with the aftermath and the consequences.  I tried to do the right thing and pay back what was owed, but it came down to having money to pay the creditors and having money for food and gas to get to work.  I have even gone so far as to try and enlist the assistance of the FBI and Secret Service in this matter.  Yes, I am an American citizen, but I am African ind decent.  But due to the "small" amount, in their eyes, that was on the table, so to speak, they would not help me.  And with the lack of diplomatic relations between our two governments, they would not do anything unless the amount in question was over $100,000.  Now, while $46,000 may not seem like much to a government agency, it is sure a HELL OF A LOT of money to a working man.

I do appreciate your kind words and your wondering what happened to me.  It is a relief to find someone from Nigeria who cares enough about their fellow man to want to know what one of their fellow countrymen did to cause their trouble.  God bless you.

It is not a crime to help somebody.  Identify theft is not only done by Nigerians.  I am grateful to God that you are able to keep your home and your truck when you declared brankruptcy.

I do not quite understand the full story, but I think this may have been a love story.  You did not even know if this person was a man or a woman.  You are also not quite sure if this person was actually Nigerian or not.  Many people are using the Nigerian name and they may not even be Nigeria.  This could have been a white hunky living in Great Britain.  This is what makes the Internet very dangerous.

Think about police officers  in the USA that catch child predators.  They pretend that they are young girls, but they are not.  They do this to catch the preditor.

As I get to know you better, I may introduce a nice girl to you that will not hurt you.  There is nothing wrong if you tried to find love.  God is love and it is a good thing to find a life partner.  He who finds a wife finds a good thing.  Make sure that you do not try to find a wife by yourself next time.  It takes an entire community to help you find a good wife.

I am sorry that you got hurt, but it was one person that we are not even sure is a Nigerian and even if it is, do not write off Nigerians or the Nigerian government.  There are over 99% good Nigerians that you have not met.

God bless Nigeria.

I appreciate your kind words.  However, I think I will stick with women I can see and meet face to face here in the US.  Much safer.  Nothing against you or your intentions, but I have learned through many online experiences--even with US women via online dating--that local women that I can meet face to face are safest.  God bless you and your kind heart.  I wish you well in your daily life.

Your apologies are accepted.  You had mentioned that the ip address comes from Nigeria.  The IP address can come from Nigeria, it still does not mean that it is a Nigerian that you were communicating with.  We have Chinese, Indians, Russians, Koreans, Whites, etc. in Nigeria living in Nigeria.

I am the least among Nigerians in this forum.  You will find a lot of educated Nigerians in this forum as well as in Nigeria.

There is no proof that you were scammed by a Nigerian regardless of the IP address.

It is in the power of the tongue to cause death or to give life.  I prefer to give life to Nigeria.  The consulate was not committing any illegal activities.  The airline is wholly owned by the Nigerian government and that is where it should be.

Nigeria is being harassed.
