The Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has ordered the demotion and immediate transfer of the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ikenne Division of Ogun State, Patrick Onwu, who beat up a female traffic warden, Anifat Bello, for stopping his private car at NNPC junction, on IBB Boulevard in Ogun state on Monday April 11th. Arase, who got to know about the incident while reading a national daily, called the state commissioner of police and ordered that Onwu be demoted to a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) from Superintendent of Police(SP). Arase has also ordered that his file be transferred to the force headquarters in Abuja so further disciplinary actions can be taken.

Anyway thnk u IGP for the action but to be honest the punishment is not enough I call for sack of the bastard , nig do not need this kind Of idiot in our police force beating Up someone 's wife or mother shud attract more penalties

Good job, Sir. By doing like this the public will have confidence in your administration and that of the force in general. Some members of the police force feel they are above the law and whatever pleases them. If you continue to check their excesses like this, they may begin to obey the law and show some respects to the public.
