I don't feel this is right on both sides. In certain climes where no one respects elders, the man will be beaten black and blue. Secondly, if the man's daughter could not leave her abusive boyfriend, then It means that she wasn't taught rational thinking at home.
On the other hand, the guy should be dealt with through the justice system even though it is not effective.
