I am 36 years old and I live here in Byei. I don’t know how I survived, but I thank God for sparing my life. When I saw the attackers, I immediately looked for where to hide. It was here, (pointing to the place) that I took refuge. They did not see me because I wore black cloth. Then I saw them kill my 44-year-old uncle, Iliya Pam. Then they entered our house and killed our 80-year-old grandmother, Ngyem Pam. They went into other houses where they killed other people too. They comprised two uniformed soldiers and about 20 Fulanis. From my house they moved to the next compound (pointing to the burnt house that belonged to one Dalyop Gang). There, they killed the pregnant woman, who was burnt to ashes with three of her kids, and slaughtered two others. That family lost about six people and the house was set ablaze. I heard the soldiers speak in English and the Fulanis were speaking Fulfulde.
Believe it or not I Rule
