Ekiti-born former governor of Nigeria's defunct Western region and one of Nigeria's oldest retired military officer has died.  According to Reporters, one of Nigeria's oldest retired military officer, General Adeyinka Adebayo has died.
 
The Ekiti-born former governor of Nigeria's defunct Western region died today in his sleep, according to family sources.
 General Adebayo was aged 89.
