This is one of the causes of divorce because some women nowadays are no more willing to do thier duties. Look at what some women are saying here, insisting on keeping their fathers names after being llegally married to their husbands. I know a lady that got married and still insisting on keeping her maiden name, their marriage lasted for just 6months. See what some women are causing and they will say,men are really bad.Better you go and stay in your father´s house.

A woman is not a man's commodity and is NOT owned by a MAN!!. A woman belongs to herself and maybe God (If they believe in God). What's in a surname? Do I marry him or his name. His kids can bear his surname... Met tend to overrate this surname nonsense.. I will definitely keep my maiden surname..If needs be, I can have a double barrel surname.

God bless u my sista. After my papa suffer train me, one man go come xpect me 2 throway my papa name. Na lie o.

I have absolutely no problem with adopting my husband's name whenever i get married. it is actually smthg i look 4wrd to, although smtimes i joke with my sisters n tell them that i hp itz a nice last name...lol. pple who hv made reference to not wanting 2 leave their father's name, i urge u to think abt it bc bearing ur husband's name takes nothg away from the relationship you have with ur father. it doesn't mk u love him any less so y make a fuss abt this?

IT DOESN'T NOT MATTER THE WOMAN CAN KEEP HER MAIDEN NAME IF SHE WANTS...DAT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING ALL THAT MATTERS IS U AVE THE RING!!!!!!!!!!!! N U LOVE UR PARTNER
what i'm saying is i can't throw away my dad's  name completely. I will bear the husband's name but my dad's name inclusive......... Ah! Ah! We even have Nigerians that do it na. I dont even want to start mentioning women who did not even put their husband's name totaly. We should try amd wake from this local and uncivilized mentality.

I friend & i was talking this morning and we argued about dis topic. He said it is disrespectful of any wife 2 keep her maiden name after marriage. He said the woman belongs 2 d man & should bear d man's name. What do u guys feel abt dis?
