I believe some African Americans does not agree with us Africans simply because we are opened to dating white folks. An African american dude that dates a white woman is seen as being weak by his peers.

They even call themselves niggers. They even deserve to be called niggers, compared to africans. (Nigger: Ignorant black man) coz that's exactly what they are. The are never willing to learn. Some young nigerians jus take Americans niggas as role modules, especially in terms of accent(ebonics), slangs and hip-hop culture not knowing the kinda bullshit these niggas put themselves through. Even the fully educated black american that lives in London next to me say that those rappers and hip-hop artists shouldn't be taken as role modules

wow... lol...I didnt think that a person smelling would set a people apart. Africans and African Americans are divided and its sad, its sad bcos at the end of the day when you look back and you investigate, we are all the same people rather you want to admit it or not. Ignorance plays a big role on both side what we dont know does hurt us and its sad. I have friends from Africa that I can relate too and Black friends I can relate to but at the end of the day, we all relate, no accent, background,jealousy, or ignorance keeps us from loving us..I hope that we can be the one's to show Africa and America that we can unite and be stronger than ever,but first you have to free your mind, you must let go of everything you think you know or was ever told, so your mind can be adapt to recieve and understand each other and then you will value and respect, I am a African American now, but I will always be a African.....

did anybody watch new orleans on CNN during the hurricane kathrina stuff? then u will c that they are no better than us here in africa. just that some stay in better cities there and so do we here so the african americans/ britons where ever they are, should not think better cos we are all the same k?

Have said this time and time again,it does not matter how hard we all try stereotyping will always be a part of who we are black or white.Just the other day i was listening to DR Cornell West and he said something about how Africans will do anything to come to America now that slavery is over.He said it in a way portraying Africans like we are betrayers.My point is if a person like Cornell West can say something like that, imagine what goes on in the mind of and ignorant person.Imagine Dr King saying Africans were the reason for all the torments African-Americans went through.

The media here only paints one picture of Africa: war, poverty, hunger, corruption, greed and disease. That is the only image most African Americans have. There are no positive images of Africa. African history is not taught in elementary or high school. There are just a few pages in the history books talking about slavery. African Americans know all about European history. I grew up believing that Africans did not consider us African and laughed at us for calling ourselves African American. I took it upon myself to learn more about African history and to become aware of the issues relevant to Africans. That is where it starts, we can not depend on someone else (Whites) to teach us our history. We have a duty to learn all we can and teach others.
Naijapals has become a good place for me to come and learn about what issues are important to young Nigerians but it has been very hard finding sites like this for youth in other African countries. If you know of any other sites like this, please let me know.

babeada this is not a laughing matter cos u can imagin what one of them said in the tube that africans stink?? meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen i feel like niffing life out of her for making that statement cos we, here in africa have somuch pitty on the way whites out there treat them n now they feel somuch superior over us here. its kind of digusting

Isn't it so as at the time am way back home the streets keeps stinking? Esp. Lagos and Ibadan which am used to. But I think once we are all blacks we av no guts to say such thing at bringing one another down, no matter how dirty it's that's still blacks origin and we must make sure its image is always redeemed!
