Sarkodie was in Dubai for the One African concert held on Thursday, November 16 but failed to perform after a successful soundcheck and arriving at the venue on time. According to Nkonkonsa.com who was in Dubai to cover the event, Sarkodie who was the only Ghanaian artiste billed to perform at the One Africa Music Fest in Dubai, did not perform.

Quote
“Sarkodie and his team arrived in Dubai on Wednesday morning November 15 and attended the pre-event party on Wednesday evening. He went for sound check ahead of the concert on Thursday evening and arrived at venue on time ready to rock the stage but for some reason, the Ghanaian Rapper never mounted the stage.
During the concert, host of the show Banky W announced Sarkodie as the next act on stage after Tekno’s performance and DJ Mensah mounted the stage but Banky W came back to announce Davido’s name after someone whisppered to him on stage that Davido was next.”

“The show started at about 9:30pm and ended at about 2:45am and all the artistes numbering about 20 from different African countries (Kenya, Angola, South Africa, Ethiopia, Tanzanian, Nigeria etc) performed with the exception of Ghana’s Sarkodie.

This left Ghanaians and Sarkodie’s fans who paid to come watch their star perform, very angry and obviously disappointed but organisers of the event haven’t said a word yet about the unfortunate incident.
Stay glued to this page for more from Dubai.’

“Sarkodie then felt turn of events were disrespectful. This happens to be the third time he has been disrespected in the same manner by the Nigerian artistes.”

Keche’s manager, George Britton who was also at the event posted on Facebook that one of Davido’s guys attacked Sarkodie’s bodyguard, Black Nana by pushing him to the floor to allow Davido perform. This action Mr. Mensah said generated an ugly scene at the backstage where blows and slaps were exchanged before Dubai police came to arrest certain individuals.

Top African artistes who performed at the event included include 2face Idibia, Wizkid, Davido, Tecko, Diamond, Victoria Kimani, Cassper Nyovest, Tiwa Savage, Flavour, Emma Nyra and many others.
