European nights are back! Although Bayern Munich beat Sevilla in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter finals, the victory was far from decisive. As the second leg approaches, Jupp Heynckes will want to field the strongest possible squad in his bid for the semis.
As far as injuries go, not much has changed from the first leg. Manuel Neuer is back in individual training and hopes to make it back for the semi finals, but Bayern will have to make do without him for a little while longer. Kingsley Coman meanwhile remains sidelined by the capsular ligament injury he sustained in February. David Alaba has returned to team training and should be available for selection — he missed the first leg with an irritated nerve in his back.
Jupp Heynckes is expected to start his best XI, but there are suspension concerns. Jerome Boateng, Robert Lewandowski, and Joshua Kimmich could all miss the first leg of the semi finals if they get a yellow card. Therefore, it would not be too surprising to see the likes of Niklas Sule, Sandro Wagner, or Rafinha start the game (or get subbed in). James Rodriguez should be good to start, as should Thomas Muller, who was rested against Augsburg.
