just a day after the Peoples Democratic Party held its Southwest rally held at the Freedom Park in Osogbo, Osun state capital, leaders and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress embarked on spiritual cleansing at the venue to ward off any chances of the major opposition party winning at the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
The cleansing which was done through sweeping of the venue, members of APC in Osun state, led by their chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun attracted the attention of other loyalists of the party who were armed with brooms.
Speaking shortly before the commencement of the sweeping, the state party chairman said the exercise became necessary because freedom park and the entire town were "polluted" with propaganda by the PDP during the rally.
He said, "because APC is a party that cares for environments and their well being, we decided to clean up the mess left behind by the PDP after their rally."
