A student of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra state (formerly known as Anambra State University), was struck dead by Lightning yesterday, Anambra state police command reports.
Vincent Uche Mbanefo, a 100-Level student studying Agric Extension in the Igbariam campus, was struck during a heavy downpour in the State. He was alone in his lodge at Achalla when the incident occurred at about 5pm.
Police detectives attached to Achalla division visited the Scene and rushed the victim to the hospital where he was certified dead by a medical doctor.
The police contacted the parents of the deceased and they arrived to convey their son's corpse to Aguleri, their hometown, for burial.
