Two suspects have been arrested by the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit (Task Force), on Monday, for impersonating officers of the agency. The suspects, Ademola Oyegunwa, 40, and Olaogun Adamson, 48, extorted N15,000 from a motorist in Ojota. According to Task Force chairman CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, preliminary interrogation carried out revealed that the suspects  arrested a motorist for alleged traffic obstruction by Ojota bus-stop after presenting themselves as Task Force officers.

“They arrested the owner of the vehicle for obstruction at Ojota, drove him down to Bolade Bus-stop opposite Task Force office where they negotiated and collected the sum of N15,000 from him,” Egbeyemi said.

Further investigation showed that the suspects made between N50,000 to N70,000 from this illegal duties daily.
