Team News

Algeria
Algeria picked up a 3-2 win over Mali in Doha in their last friendly with goals for the Desert Foxes coming from Baghdad Bounedjah, Youcef Belaili and Andy Delort. Djamel Belmadi’s team has been in good form recently with a 4-1 drubbing of Togo followed by 1-0 wins over tricky opponents Qatar and Tunisia.

Riyad Mahrez is the standout name in the Algeria Africa Cup of Nations squad but there are other key players such as Islam Slimani and Yacine Brahimi. Goals could come from many sources and Algeria are also capable of grinding out results.

Recent form suggests the Desert Foxes can feel confident of victory against Kenya. Algeria are paying 1.50 for the win with big value on offer in the -1 handicap market at 2.50.

Kenya
Kenya drew 1-1 to DR Congo in their most recent friendly in Madrid. Being at the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in 15 years is a noteworthy achievement but the Harambee Stars now have to prove themselves against the continent’s big guns.

Life was made easier for Sebastien Migne’s men in qualifying by the expansion of the Africa Cup of Nations from 16 teams to 24 and Sierra Leone’s disqualification. They can expect no favours from seasoned campaigners Algeria though.

Captain Victor Wanyama is the biggest name in the Kenya squad but they lack the depth in household names that Algeria have. Kenya are therefore paying 7.50 for the win and 3.80 for the draw.

Head To Head
Sunday’s encounter in Cairo will be the first ever match between Algeria and Kenya.
