A young guy went for a therapy session. Upon explaining himself, the therapist said to him: “Uzor, feelings as feelings are not bad; it depends on your response to it”. Later, the young man was told to engage in the following exercise as a guide. “This is how to go about your feelings Uzor: ‘identify it, name it, own it and express it in a helpful way”. Upon leaving the session, Uzor was crossing a railway track in a busy quasi market. Everyone was running to safety. However, Uzor wanted to practise what he had discovered in the session. So, he stood on the train’s way and started analysing his feelings:
What’s happening to me now? Ok! I’m panicking.
Why? I’m afraid, it is fear
Where is the fear coming from? Oh! I’m on a railway track and train is fast approaching
What shall I do? I have to........................
(Before Uzor take the decision, he was smashed by the train.)
