Love and likeness, which sustains the relationship more?

You like a person then go for that person before love starts. Along the way, when there is a disagreement, love gradually becomes clouded by the intensity of the situation. Suddenly, you notice something that you like so much about that person and your heart melts, then you reconcile...

So which is the sustaining ingredient? Love or likeness?
