Nigerian actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele was conspicuously missing as her father was laid to final rest in Ikorodu yesterday, January 17, 2020.
The Bishop Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Ikorodu, Rt. Rev Samson Osundina, on Friday, January 17, 2020, expressed his disappointment in Nollywood actress Funke Akindele Bello and her siblings over their absence at their father's funeral.
Their dad, Very Reverend. Godwin Olusoji Akindele, died on Saturday, December 7, 2019, after a brief illness, aged 73. However, none of his four children was present at his Service of Songs and burial at the Diocese of Ikorodu, Methodist Church Nigeria

While delivering the burial sermon, Rev. Osundina thanked the children for taking care of their father during the times when he was ill, but stressed the fact that paying him the last respect as children was very important and significant
He enjoined them to retrace their steps by making amends wherever necessary. He then suspended the usual outing and thanksgiving service which are final programmes in Christian’s burial, till the deceased’s children are available to attend.

How can you post "RIP DAD, WE LOVE U BUT GOD LOVES U BEST" but none of u his kids can attend his final burial, that is fake love. And there is no excuse for such disgraceful absence

I am sure they have their personal reasons best known to them. For example:  A father who sexually abuse his children is not worthy of any respect either dead or alive.

Na dem palava but a bastard child would always find negligible or filmsy excuses not to attend his/her parents' burial no matter the circumstances...
