People from the South Southern part of Nigeria are very delighted with president Muhammadu Buhari at the moment for bringing to fruition his promise to clean up the contaminated area of the Niger/Delta, popularly known as the Ogoni Land. Dwellers of this area are farmers and fishermen, meaning they have lack a source of livelihood ever since their land and waters became contaminated by elements crude oil and petroleum produce. Despite previous president, Goodluck Jonathan being from the South Southern area, he has failed to embark on this clean up project which has now been acknowledged by people from this region as one of the biggest development in the area in such a long time.
