A total of 82 foreigners will be receiving Nigerian citizenship, following yesterday’s approval of their application by the Federal Executive Council (FEC). Amongst the lot, 38 will be granted Nigerian citizenship by naturalization, while 44 will be granted citizenship by registration. However, a total of 54 applicants were denied citizenship, following inappropriate clearance reports. The minister of state for information, Labaran Maku, who briefed alongside the minister of interior, Emmanuel Iheanacho, disclosed this on Wednesday while briefing journalists after the weekly federal executive meeting which was first chaired by President Goodluck Jonathan, who later handed over to vice president, Namadi Sambo, when he left to receive the Senegalese president. “The minister of interior sought council’s approval of the recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Nigerian Citizenship (ACNC) for the grant of Nigerian citizenship to deserving applicants residing in the country,” he said.

Why do people seek naturalization in far away lands? why do they travel thousands of miles? why do they want to be called by another's name and identity? The answer is always been the same from time immemorial....its COMMERCE,my friends...COMMERCE As the first postal rightly said, they all mostly would be Lebanese, Indians and Chinese. Why? these are the folks while some of us are overseas and even at home suffering, these guys are carting away our collective wealth.
They want to be Nigerian citizens so as to further plunder the system....while most Nigerians are willing to renounce theirs, these guys are looking for for it.
Once they line their pockets....take what they're out for, they will gladly toss the green passport and head for their homes
