You're in a serious relationship, you decide to get married,
but he/she asks you to sign a prenuptial contract!
Will you do it?
What do you think about it?

Esonu,a prenupt is signed exactly for protecting your assets!
In case of divorce, she'll go with what she came, nothing from your goods!

A prenuptial agreement, antenuptial agreement, or premarital agreement, commonly abbreviated to prenup or prenupt, is a contract entered into prior to marriage, civil union  or any other agreement prior to the main agreement by the people intending to marry or contract with each other. The content of a prenuptial agreement can vary widely, but commonly includes provisions for division of property and spousal support in the event of divorce  or breakup of marriage. They may also include terms for the forfeiture of assets as a result of divorce on the grounds of adultery, further conditions of guardianship may be included as well.

Why not?
For example, what if he's poorer than u are?
In case of divorce, u'll split 50-50,if u don't sign a prenupt before!

You still didn't get it or what?
If u put her to sign a prenupt, that will protect your assets in case of divorce.

If she asks me to sign a prenup I'd see that as a warning sign that we probably will make big things out of little things and our marriage under a contract would be more prone to hit the rocks.

Crazy enough I would sign; however, not what she brings but what we agree on. I'd have to include my terms. We'l do it with the aid of our lawyers. Nothing prepared from somewhere is going to get my signature just like that. I'd scrutinize and re-scrutinize her terms and if I feel they are too imposing I'd just not marry her.

Why not?
If this is the condition for getting married with her, what's the problem?
I believe that anybody who doesn't have a hidden agenda would sign it,without even arguing about it!

Ok,Onchedu

That's a scary response. U know when a woman (typically talkative) doesn't say much she's said a whole lot more than she would have said saying much; don't U?

Oya what have I done?

You said something very funny!  Cheesy
Me,talkative?  Cheesy
U could count the words I say out loud in a day time,I'm really a quiet one!
U see how u perceive me wrong?
Anyway, u didn't do anything, ok it was simply ok,I got your point about the prenupt!

prenuptial agreement signing is a western thing, it is not African. What is the sense in this topic when you consider the majority of the users on this site?
