Police arraign man, 31, for molesting 6-yr-old girl

ABUJA—The Nigerian  police yesterday arraigned a 31-year-old man, Mr Adamu Danladi, before an Abuja Magistrate court on the allegation that he brutally raped a 6-year-old girl and left her unconscious.

Police in a First Information Report, FIR, it filed before the court yesterday, said the accused person forcefully had marathon sex with the little girl after he had successfully lured her into his house with biscuits and sweet.

The uncanny incident was said to have taken place at Kusaki village in Kuje, a suburb in Abuja, on June 23, 2010, and was promptly reported at a police station in that area by the father of the victim, identified as Mr Asama Sabo.

The indecent act, according to the police, contravened section 285 of the penal code.
Meantime, the alleged rapist who had been in police detention since the day he allegedly defiled the 6-year old, pleaded not guilty to the entire 3-count charge filed against him.

Following a no-objection response by counsel to the police, Sergeant Henry Umoh, Presiding Magistrate, Hafsat Soso, went ahead to grant the accused person bail for N200, 000, after he had produced a civil servant who stood surety for him in the like sum.

Hearing on the matter was  adjourned till September 27.

Is like the authority is not taking rape cases with utmost seriousness,why should they grant such idiot bail,when the evident is down with them,why asking guilty or not guilty when the little girl is present with the horrow of the indisent act on her.minus 6 from 31,the remaining is adamu should stay in prison with hard labour (25yrs)with out uption.Thats my judgment------COURT

I wonder wot kind of a man dat man is, wen he sees grown up ladies and he cant rape them, and even the court that grant him bail, wonder what kind of path they r laying for others 2 follow... if am in the position of the judge, i wud have demamded that his John Thomas shud b cut...
