among all the comments i have read none have addressed the issue of the Nigerians we Lossed who knows maybe one of the dead would have been the savior of our country Naija, South of North, West or East is not the problem, the problem is that none of you have the potential to become a good leader. Have I not said it before the Nigeria is a Terrorist State, Look what they did, whether carried by the South or Helped by their Northern brothers..... God Bless Naija and God Help Nigeria

I can see that some people have taken this site to be a place for sentiments on North & South,
A man from the south may lead this country & never take electricity to your village a sourtherner,
a candidate from the north may the be president but his northern brothers may still be living with cholera epidemic,
what we saying is having leader that will help if not solving all (dis we know) but better some of our condition
with the much resources we are having, instead of using it all to enrich themselves.
Jonathan a niger delta is their- Militancy & Kidnapping are still going on in his region,
Some northerners were their yet the north still have alot of problems.
We should talk about good leadership if the candidate may be from any part of the Country thats what bother me.

@ mat-james

Yours was an objective analysis of the problems in Nigeria. People can't discuss issues without tribal bias in this time and age, I think it is a shame. But then many on this forum that display such tribal sentiments are also part of the problems. The Abuja bomb blast was claimed by MEND, which Jonathan denied. What were his proof for such swift denial? Shouldn't he have waited for the outcome of a proper investigation. Their Leader, Henry Okah insisted it was MEND. Aljazeera's News Channel filmed faceless gun-ho hoodlums in the creek promising more carnage.  I should think the South South elders should condenm the terrorism, kidnapping, oil bunkering of their youths rather than fanning the flame of anger by unwarranted prediction of Somalia fate for Nigeria. Nigeria is far advanced, economically, militarily and in man-power for that to happen. Any rebellious region will be crushed. The prevoius separatist ambition brought nothing but untold hardship, hunger, untimely deaths to a region. This lesson of tribalism and sectionalism should not be lost on modern day separatist agitators.  The so-called Northern leaders do not speak for ordinary northerners either. When they were in power Northern states sufferred just like the rest of Nigeria, including the tenure of OBJ, who is not from the North. Many in the North, including monarchs and governors have voiced support for GJ. But he did not help matter by defending MEND, which it appears, want to topple him with the bomb blasts.

The so-called S'South elders should stop blowing embers of fire. They should know that the so-called Northern leaders do not speak for any northerners except their own immediate circles. What is the point of demanding an apology from them when they know very well it will not happen. If GJ feels offended, he can take it up with them personally. He does not need the intervention of S'South elders. Just like the so-called northern elders, the S'S elders are playing politics of tribalism and division, which modern Nigeria and its voters should reject. May the best candidate win regardless of where he comes from as long as he is a Nigerian.

@ livingday

U are a correct guy, bro. Never mind those old peddlers of tribalism and divisionalism in Nigeria who will not allow the teeming younger generations of Nigerians to 4get what divides them, such as tribe, north, south, east or west but to move forward with the Nigeria project as one Nigerians. Irrespective of where you come from as long as you are honest and credible you can aspire to rule this country as long as you are a Nigerian and you be supported.
