A drunk policeman in Abuja has been rescued by passersby after they spotted him in an inebriated state while his rifle was seized from him.

In a video circulating on the internet, a man could be seen pouring water on the officer who didn’t seem to be so much aware of his surrounding.

The people berated him for being drunk at the time of the day and reported that his rifle was taken away by an unknown person so the officer would not shoot people in his inebriated state.

The incident reportedly happened on Saturday, Nov 28, at CBN Junction, close to Abuja Police Command Headquarters.

I 100% agree with you. As much as the whole situation is depressing, one must also keep in mind that some of these officers are not fit to handle such an enemous task they are being saddled with or voluntarily agreed to. Not because they love their country less (or money/position for those who went into it for that reason), but because the mental toll is high and will eventually get to anymore no matter how strong you think you are. In as much as salary increase is very important, we should not forget to also advocate for strong mental health support. Thank you.
