The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly arrested Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, who was just released from the custody of the Nigerian Army in Enugu State.

Chiwetalu Agu regained his freedom on Friday after spending 24 hours in the custody of the Nigerian Army, who arrested him for wearing an outfit with Biafran color in Onitsha, Anambra State.

In a viral video, two armed soldiers were seen brutalizing the 65-year-old actor who was on a charity mission in Onitsha where he regularly gifts the less privileged with food items when he was arrested and assaulted by soldiers.

Barely a few hours after his release, a Nigerian writer, Chiagozie Fred Nwonwu who writes under the pen name Mazi Nwonwu, alleged the actor has been arrested by the DSS.

Mazi Nwonwu wrote, “Chiwetalu Agu is still not free. He is with DSS now. Colleagues say they are looking for a top lawyer to bail him.”

Although it’s not yet known why the DSS arrested Chiwetalu Agu, the Nigerian Army had explained the actor was arrested for inciting members of the public and soliciting support for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

What in the world is this? What's actually going on in my country?  Why the brutality and incessant intimidation and torture of law abiding citizens? Is this what we were promised by this government?  Is this how other countries torture and torment their citizens?  Why my country?  Why President Buhari, why DSS? What's actually happening to serving our fatherland with love and unity? Where's the peace and unity in all these sufferings and threats people are faced with everyday in Nigeria?  This is not the positive change we were promised, this is not the provision of standard education and healthcare, nor the constant electricity supply the people have been promised and assured of for years unend neither is it the security and good roads that people have been crying for? Who do us? Who do us I ask again?  Is it not yet time for government to consider people's rights and demands and get to work to provide the basic amenities that is so lacking in the country?  Please I am begging the President and all involved to please please retract their steps from this path of destruction and consider the welfare of the citizens please I'm on my knees begging please Kiss

My dear, you are not alone, but the fact is that Nigerians acted like blindfolded people in the past two elections. First of all, when Buhari promised change, he didnt add ''Positive'', and we didnt ask what kind of change. Then, he came with ''Next Level'' and no one remembered to ask him, next level of what?. Not that I trust our electoral process though, he lost to Atiku and is still President. So all in all, Nigeria is doomed.

They will still troop out and vote for these animals in the coming election. Nigeria is not worth dying for. Chikwetalu should have been counselled. This is fast tract to untimely death or end of his career!
