The injured man, Mr Sadiq Kehinde, reportedly had the deceased, Mrs Comfort Ayeni, on the pillion of his motorcycle, with registration number QC184KEH at the time of the incident.
Reports had it that the two were neighbours and the okada rider had offered the deceased a ride, from where she was waiting to get a means of transportation.
A version of the story on how the accident occurred was that the okada rider attempted to overtake a commercial bus and, in the process, ran into an oncoming tipper lorry, with registration number AE180BDJ, driven by one Mr Mutiu Raheem.
Another version had it that a commercial bus had parked for passengers to disembark, only to attempt to go back to the road, which made the okada rider to veer to the left, facing the oncoming tipper.
The deceased was immediately crushed to death with her skull smashed while the motorcycle was also grinded flat.
The injured man was rushed to a private hospital in Akobo area while the body of the deceased had been deposited in the mortuary at the Adeoyo State Hospital, Yemetu.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State, Mr Olatunji Ajimuda, confirmed the story, saying that the tipper driver was in police detention with the vehicle impounded.
