The environment is one of the greatest gifts of nature that can be used to attain a life of comfort. But a wrong approach to it's usage can cause more harm than good. This is the case with the construction of a drainage system. A well constructed drainage system makes for a motorable and more accessible environment but a badly constructed one is a mess to the environment. According to environmental scientists, Thomas and Dede 2002, "the basic underlying purpose of any drainage system is to keep people from water, to keep water from people and to protect and enhance the environment while doing so".
