The Jigawa State Consumer Protection Committee says its mobile court has sentenced one Nuhu Isyaku to six months imprisonment for selling adulterated grains.

The Committee’s Chairman, Alhaji Farouk Abdallah, who disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday, said the man was arrested with 23 bags of beans and other grains at Babura market.

He said the man was arrested when the committee paid unscheduled visit to the market.

Farouk explained that the suspect was arrested with 17 bags of adulterated millet and six bags of adulterated beans in the market.

The chairman said the suspect was prosecuted and sentenced to six months imprisonment with N80,000 fine option.
