Speaking during a meeting with managers of banks in the state capital, Osogbo, on Monday evening, Aregbesola said the exercise would reduce the high rate of unemployment in the state.
Managers of various banks operating in the state met with the governor in his Ilesa country home where he called on them to support his administration. Specifically, Aregbesola asked the bankers why there was no representative of United Bank of Africa at the meeting.
UBA granted the ousted administration of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola an N18.3bn loan in the twilight of the former governor’s tenure and this generated public outcry Aregbesola also promised to work hard at achieving food security for the people of the state in order to improve local production and export.
“We will assist our people to be involved in production. Without the active involvement of people in production, there can never be any wealth.”
