Borno State Police Command has debunked the news of convoy of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, being attacked in the North-East state.
The claim was made earlier today by PDP chieftain and member of the party's presidential council, Dino Melaye.
Reacting to this, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sani Shatambaya said;

“The news of the attack on Atiku Abubakar’s convoy was not only fake but a false and mischievous attempt at confusing Nigerians.
“There was no attack on Atiku’s convoy.”
The police however paraded one Danladi Musa Abbas, 32, for “attempting to disrupt the escort of the presidential candidate on the way to the airport.”“There was no attack on Atiku’s convoy.”
Shatambaya said the suspect was nabbed with a stone and upon "sighting the police, he ran into a church where he was arrested."
The police spokesperson added that the command is hunting for his other accomplices.
