Ex-Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has deleted a tweet, where she congratulated Nigeria’s president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. The stateswoman had taken to her Twitter page to congratulate the former Lagos state governor on his win. She also extended her congratulations to the Nigerian people for exercising their democratic right in deciding their next ruler.

Sirleaf has now deleted her congratulatory message and didn't give a reason for her action.

It read:

“Congratulations to @officialABAT on his victory in #Nigeria, and to the Nigerian people for exercising their democratic right to vote. I encourage the new President to champion #WomenLeaders in his government and to ensure that the rights of women & girls remain a priority.”
