Why do most church members behave and do everything like their pastor a.ka. PAPA, Even when they pray the said the God of PAPA bless me. PAPAS of various denominations now serve as role models rather than Christ.

Now the question is... is it because of their financial status in the society? Could you believe that banks now work on Sundays because of the wealthy guys?

What is important in this principle is what we imitate and the qualities of those we are moved to imitate. Most assuredly, God wants us to imitate Him. He wants us to keep His commandments, which are a basic description of the way He would live were He a man. When Jesus became a man, He never sinned even once! In John 5:19-20, He says:

Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

The apostle Paul confirms this principle in I Corinthians 4:16, where he strongly states, "Therefore I urge you, imitate me." In I Corinthians 11:1, he repeats, "Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ." Finally, in Philippians 3:17, he writes, "Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern." In addition to Paul, Peter teaches us in I Peter 2:21 that Jesus set "us an example, that [we] should follow His steps." Imitation and conformity is a fact of life.

Anybody can call his or her father in the Lord any name they wish to but I for one know that I have just one Father in heaven and one on earth. All the others who brought me up spiritually are simply pastors to me. I do this because I dont want to idolise any human in my heart.

...because the "papa" is in most cases a PAPA to many of his congregation member in the REAL sense of that word. Those guys just dey pin those babes down anyhow. I swear maybe I should come and open a German church in that sinful place called Naija sef. I know say people dem go flock come because the annointing go be "made in Germany". Grin

No posting. It seems like moderator is censoring/locking up my my posts in response to PAPA'S discuss. I wonder what the ear heard to deafen it or what the eye sore that made it go blind.
