No fewer than 22 military personnel who died in combat in Niger State are being laid to rest at the National Military Cemetery in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) on August 14, announced the death of at least 36 officers who were killed in battle.

The officers’ helicopter was shot down by some insurgents in the Zungeru area of Niger State.

The troops were deployed to Kundu village in Wushishi Local Government Area after bandits terrorized the area recently.

Some of the deceased officers had already been buried by their various families, remaining the 22 being interred on Friday.

These gallant officers paid the supreme price with a total of 30 bandits neutralized in the confrontation that occurred at Kundu, near Zungeru in Niger state.

The operation that led to this tragic event aimed to block the passage of criminals transporting stolen cattle through the Kundu route. However, the unexpected ambush took a heavy toll, also injuring five vigilantes who were struck by bullets during the operation.

The helicopter which was dispatched as part of the effort to bring back the remains of the fallen soldiers suffered a fatal crash in chukuba in shiroro local council. RIP LEGENDS.

Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa, and other service chiefs are currently at the cemetery.

Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs, is IPOB the cause of these soldiers death? remember to extend your stern warning to the terrorists!. Unleash your military tactical power to the insurgents, not to the Igbos. These innocent soldiers death is  a shame on Nigerian military. How can Nigeria withstand any external aggression, with divided minds?

Do I hear Nigeria soldier fighting Terorist?  Did Nigeria Government can say they dont know the root of Terrorist in Nigeria?  When a Government are paying negociation money to bandit and terrorist, can they expect the terrorist to stop making their money? When Government are paying ransome to kidnapper, it will encourage more people to become kidnappers.  May the soul of the fallen soldiers rest in peace, and may the Lord comfort their love ones.
