For a growing mega city like Lagos, constant vigilance by government is critical to ensure environmental sanity. The State Government has embarked on demolition of contravening structures on the drain along Jankara, LSDPC compound, and Bombata in Lagos Island .

During the exercise, structures causing setbacks along the Lagos Island drainage channel were demolished, after the owners were served contravention notices more than two years ago
