Look at all the passionate hatred people have for one another due to religions that were imported and forced down their throats by the arabs and white men. The same arab who brought Islam to the country will NEVER treat you as an equal in his country unless you are as rich as Dangote. The same white man who brought Christianity to the country will NEVER treat you as an equal human being unless you have diplomatic immunity or you are as rich as Obasanjo.
Religion sells itself as peace loving and good for the people. Well, they say the tasting is in the pudding. We can all see the true fruits of religion in our every day lives. With all the abundance of religion in this country, we still remain the most vile,callous,wicked and cold hearted to our fellow human beings. You see people jumping up and down in church on sunday, calling "god,god,god" every 3 sentences and yet, all they are thinking of is how to cheat their fellow man out of his business after which they will go to church to give thanksgiving and praise the lord for his "blessings". You will see people facing mecca several times a day praying to their allah and pretending to be holy saints and yet, at the drop of a pin they are willing to wipe out entire families from the face of the earth. It's very sad.
What Nigeria really needs is to remove religion out of context and focus more on what matters. Go to predominantly Atheist nations like Finland and you will see how human beings are expected to behave. They treat each other better, they respect themselves as human beings and are good to one another NOT BECAUSE THE BIBLE OR KORAN SAYS SO but because that is how it's supposed to be. Even animals/pets have more "rights" over there than the average Nigerian living in Nigeria. So much for the purpose of religion.
