Brownhill Investments Company Limited, the organizers of the yearly "Warri Again Concert," has requested a Delta High Court in Effurun to prohibit Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, from participating in any show or event until he repays $94,500 and $18,000, as stated in the comprehensive court documents obtained by GISTMANIA

Brownhill Company is controlled by Mr Amaju Pinnick, a former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and according to the court documents, it asked the court to give an order “directing the Defendants jointly and/or severally to immediately refund the sum of $94,500.00 on 6th April, 2023 for the 1st Defendant's performance at the 19th Edition of the "Warri Again" event held on 6th of October, 2023, at Warri, Delta State.”

David Adeleke is listed as the first defendant while Davido music Worldwide Limited is listed as the second defendant.

“AN ORDER directing the Defendants jointly and/or severally to refund the Claimant, the sum of $18,000.00 (Eighteen Thousand Dollars) paid by the Claimant to charter and secure the private jet that was to personally convey the 1st Defendant and his team to and from Warri, Delta State for the 19th Edition of "Warri Again" held on 6th October, 2023.

“AN ORDER directing the Defendants jointly and/or severally to tender a public apology on all the 1st Defendant's social media accounts/handlesand in Two [2] National Daily Newspapers for four [4] consecutive days, to the Claimant and attendees of the 19th Edition of the "Warri Again" event held on 6th of October, 2023, at Warri, Delta State,” the court documents further said.

“AN ORDER OF INJUNCTION restraining the 1st Defendant from performing as a musical artiste at any show/event in Nigeria, until the Defendants jointly and/or severally refund the sum of $94,500.00 (Ninety Four Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars) collected from the Claimant on 6th April, 2023 as payment for the Ist Defendant's performance at the 19th Edition of "Warri Again", held on 6th October, 2023 in Warri, Delta State.”

GISTMANIA had on November 1 reported that the claimant, represented by Kelechi Onwuegbuchulem, is demanding that the court gives Davido and his music company, Davido Music Worldwide Limited, N2billion in general damages.

The claimant is requesting that the court award him N150 million in legal and professional fees, as well as N30 million in filing fees.

In its statement of claim, the claimant stated that sometime in early 2023, Davido approached Pinnick, when they met at the Abuja Airport and asked to be engaged for the 19th edition of the ‘Warri Again Concert’ event to be held on October 6, 2023.

GISTMANIA had on October 7 reported that Davido replied Pinnick after that the football administrator accused him of refusing to perform at an event in Warri, Delta State, despite being paid $94,600.

Pinnick had accused the music megastar of failing to honour a contract after collecting the huge sum.

The FIFA Executive Member had spoken during the 19th edition of Warri Again, adding that the organisers also booked a private jet for $18,000 for the “Unavailable Crooner” but that he never showed up.

Replying, Davido in  a subtle response posted on X platform had bragged that nobody could stop him from performing anywhere in Nigeria, assuring his fans in Warri that he would be in their city soon.

“Nobody can stop me from performing anywhere in Nigeria… Warri I will see you soon,” he wrote.

He also posted a picture of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, logo with the caption; “Make I no talk.”

“Throwing stones but u Dey live for glass house,”
he added.
