Parents Chase Prospective In-law Away After He Refused To Show Their Daughter Where He Resides

An X user has shared the story of how a Nigerian parent chased away a prospective in-law from their house after he repeatedly refused to allow their daughter to visit him in Europe to know where he resides.

A Nigerian lady @T_nsofor who shared the story, said the man had engaged the Nigerian lady in January this year, had an introduction ceremony and even planned to have a December wedding. However, Her parents who are from the East have repeatedly asked him to invite their daughter over to Europe to see his living conditions before they get married but apparently, he kept dodging. He recently came back and visited the lady's parents to further their wedding plans but he was chased away.

The X user who shared the story went on to state that she believes that the Igbo tradition of investigating and visiting the groom's family and the groom's residence before the wedding is very important and helpful.

I won't blame the parents because many of these boys coming from there are scam. They have a wife in Europe but they will still come around and lock ladies with pregnancy down here with the promise of you will come and join me, because they know they can't try rubbish with their women over there.
