South Africa goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, has won the Golden Glove at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Williams beat Nigeria’s Stanley Nwabali to the award.

Bafana Bafana only conceded twice during the tournament, meaning that Williams kept five clean sheets.

His last clean sheet came in the penalty shoot-out win over DR Congo on Saturday.

Nwabali conceded twice in the 2-1 defeat in the final and four in total. He kept four clean sheets.

Interestingly, both goalkeepers play in South Africa. Nwabali represents Chippa United, while Williams turns out for Mamelodi Sundowns.
