
In a coordinated operation, law enforcement agencies in Kaduna State apprehended 35 males and one female suspected of engaging in internet-related offences. The arrests were made in various locations, including Sabo Kaduna, Narayi Highcoast, and Layin Dogon Iche Samaru within the Zaria Local Government Area.
According to reports, the crackdown followed credible intelligence gathered on the activities of the suspects involved in fraudulent online activities.
During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered a significant amount of evidence, including 43 mobile phones and five laptops, believed to be linked to the illicit activities of the apprehended individuals.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which spearheaded the operation, announced that the suspects would face prosecution upon the completion of thorough investigations into their alleged crimes.
The arrest underscores the government's commitment to combating cybercrime and ensuring the enforcement of laws against fraudulent activities in the state. Authorities have reiterated their determination to bring perpetrators of internet fraud to justice and curb the proliferation of such criminal activities in Kaduna State.
