The Yobe State Police Command, in collaboration with sister security agencies, has announced the apprehension of 30 suspects involved in various criminal activities across the state. This was disclosed by the Command's Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, in a statement issued to newsmen in Damaturu on Monday.
Among the apprehended suspects are 25-year-old Mohammed Garba and 22-year-old Ibrahim Mohammed, who are accused of stabbing a man to death during a house break-in for theft. The Command expressed sympathy to the bereaved family and assured the community of appropriate punishment for the culprits.
DSP Abdulkarim noted that many of the arrested individuals had previously served imprisonment terms for similar offenses. Additionally, items recovered from the suspects included a knife and five cellphones of different brands.
The Command has initiated discrete investigations for subsequent prosecution of the suspects. They also urged members of the communities to support security agencies by providing useful information about any suspicious movements or criminals' hideouts. This collaborative effort is crucial for maintaining peace and security in the state.
