The Nigerian entertainment industry is in mourning following the untimely demise of veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu. The beloved comic actor, renowned for his comedic prowess and infectious laughter, passed away after a prolonged battle with illness.

Mr Ibu's health struggles, which included undergoing surgeries resulting in the amputation of his leg, ultimately culminated in his tragic death. His absence from the limelight in recent years had sparked speculations about his well-being, with rumors of his deteriorating health circulating widely before his passing.

In addition to his health challenges, Mr Ibu had previously made alarming allegations of being targeted by enemies within his community. In 2019, he claimed that his domestic workers were bribed to poison him due to jealousy over his successful career. Furthermore, in May 2022, he alleged being poisoned for the third time, shedding light on the sinister motives of those who sought to harm him.

In an interview with Vanguard Newspaper, Mr Ibu recounted his harrowing ordeal, revealing how he battled against the odds with the support of medical professionals and divine intervention. Despite facing near-death experiences and witnessing the malevolent intentions of his adversaries, he expressed gratitude for the second chance at life granted by God.

Reflecting on his illness, Mr Ibu emphasized the profound lessons he learned and the unexpected blessings of still being alive. His resilience in the face of adversity and unwavering faith serve as a testament to his indomitable spirit and enduring legacy within the Nigerian entertainment landscape.

As tributes pour in from fans and colleagues alike, Mr Ibu's passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, yet his iconic contributions to Nollywood will forever be cherished, ensuring that his laughter and legacy endure for generations to come.

RIP. Upon the huge amount of money pumped into his treatment at the hospital, he did not even up to one year. If he was taken abroad with such amount of money, he would have received a better treatment but the hospital Management deceived the family into believing that he couldn’t make it to hospital abroad so they could have all the millions in their hospital bank account.
