The Kaduna State Police Command has apprehended a suspected human trafficker identified as Bulus Danladi, following a complaint lodged by Mrs. Jummai Danjuma and two others in the Katari area of Kachia Local Government Area. The Command's spokesman, ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the arrest to journalists on Sunday in Kaduna.
According to Hassan, the complaint, filed on March 1st at around 09:00 hrs, detailed the activities of the arrested suspect. Bulus Danladi, hailing from Ankwa area in Kachia LGA, allegedly trafficked five youths from Katari to Eruku in Kwara State under the guise of employment in a factory.
However, upon reaching their destination, the suspect purportedly abandoned the youths on a farm in Eruku before returning to Katari, leaving them stranded. Of the five individuals trafficked to Kwara, three have managed to return home and reunite with their families.
ASP Hassan noted that efforts are underway to locate the remaining two youths. He assured that the suspect would face prosecution following a thorough investigation into the matter. The arrest highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable individuals from exploitation and abuse.
