Renowned Nollywood actor, Timini Egbuson, has boldly proclaimed his stature as a dominant force in the Nigerian film industry, asserting his superiority over fellow actor, Zubby Michael.
The declaration comes in the wake of a spirited exchange between the two actors during the inaugural episode of the Prime Video original reality series, 'Ebuka Turns Up Africa', where they sparred over the coveted title of the biggest actor in Africa.
In an exclusive interview with Cool FM Lagos, Egbuson, joined by host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, reiterated his stance, emphasizing his credentials in terms of film quality, box office success, and industry recognition.
When pressed by the host, Do2tun, on his assertion of superiority over Zubby Michael, Egbuson maintained his position, clarifying that his assertion was not directed solely at Michael but encompassed his standing relative to all industry peers.
Egbuson asserted, "I speak my mind wherever I go. I consider myself the biggest actor, not just bigger than Zubby, but bigger than everybody else."
Delving into the metrics of comparison, Egbuson highlighted various factors including the caliber and diversity of roles, the volume of filmography, commercial success, critical acclaim, and sustained relevance within the industry. He underscored his own track record across these domains, contending that it eclipses that of Zubby Michael.
While acknowledging Zubby's talent and influence within the industry, Egbuson maintained that his own contributions and accomplishments stand as a testament to his status as a preeminent figure in Nollywood.
The interview shed light on the competitive dynamics within the Nigerian film industry, underscoring the aspirations and ambitions of its leading luminaries as they vie for supremacy on both the national and international stage.
