
In a significant breakthrough, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have apprehended a 26-year-old woman, identified as Obasanmi Esther Iyanu, for her alleged involvement in the production and distribution of skuchies. The arrest was made during a raid on her hideout in Osogbo, the capital city of Osun State.
During the raid, law enforcement officers recovered a substantial quantity of illicit substances, including 16.5 litres of skuchies, as well as various quantities of molly and cannabis from the suspect's possession.
According to the NDLEA spokesperson, the agency has intensified its efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse across the country. In a recent operation along the Gbongan – Ibadan road in Osun State, NDLEA officers intercepted an inter-state commercial bus marked VDY 187 XA. Upon thorough inspection, they discovered approximately 5.2 kilograms of cannabis sativa and opioids concealed in the engine compartment of the vehicle.
The driver of the bus, identified as Iorliam Sughnen Dominic, aged 35, confessed to being responsible for the concealment of the illicit substances. He has been apprehended and taken into custody for further investigation.
These recent arrests and seizures highlight the NDLEA's unwavering commitment to curbing drug-related crimes and protecting communities from the harmful effects of narcotics.
