In a recent development, Nigeria's wealthiest woman, Folorunsho Alakija, and her husband, Modupe Alakija, have reportedly parted ways after three decades of marriage. According to a report by TheWill, the couple no longer reside together in their matrimonial home located in the upscale Ikoyi area of Lagos.

Sources close to the couple suggest that frequent disagreements between them have led to the decision to live separately. Allegedly, these disagreements became so pronounced that Folorunsho Alakija requested enhanced privacy within their home, prompting her husband to seek alternative accommodation nearby.

While the couple maintains a united front in public due to their prominent status in society, insiders reveal that their relationship has faced challenges in recent years. Despite efforts to present a cohesive image, the strains in their marriage have become apparent to those close to them.

As details surrounding their separation continue to emerge, speculation abounds regarding the future of their relationship and its implications for both individuals.

I know Mr Modupe Alakija as a young girl....he would have taken advantage of me if he had wanted to. I graduated as an Engineer and there was no job but I went to Famfa oil owned by Mrs Folorunsho Alakija and her husband. I met him and he explained what Obasanjo was doing to them and their oilwell license and why he couldn't help. But he gave referrals to other oil companies and since then, I saw him as my mentor while I worked at VI. Their children are equally well brought up and I know Madam is a born again christian. This indeed is a sad news!
